Update on Club Activities in light of Covid-19

Published 21:34 on 18 Mar 2020

In light of measures to protect people's health put in place by the National Trust at Fell Foot, and in line with guidance from the RYA and the government, we unfortunately must cancel all club activity until further notice.

The Fell Foot Active Base will be closed as of Friday, March 20, including the changing rooms and toilets.

People may still work on their boats and sail individually, being responsible for their own safety). But gatherings of more than 4 or 5 people are to be avoided.

We realise this is disappointing for many of us eager to sail and race as the weather improves. However, we are also very aware that we are in an unprecedented situation which calls on all of us to follow the guidelines that are put in place to protect our health and the health of those around us.

For these many reasons, we will hope that the restrictions in place will soon be effective in lowering incidence of the virus, and that we can resume all of our Club activities.

The SWSC committee will continue to monitor the situation very closely.
