Programme of Walks
Sunday 11th February – Sizergh and Kendal south
Meet for a walk start of 11.00 am on the roadside outside the Strickland Arms, Sizergh (SD 501873).
This is a 6.5 mile gentle, low level walk in the Sizergh area south of Kendal, giving a different perspective on familiar locations. Post-walk refreshments will be at the Strickland Arms, Sizergh.
Sunday 25th February – Dentdale
Meet at 10.30 am for a 10.45 am start (TBC) at the entrance to the car park in Dent
(SD 70311 87137). The Dentdale car park is Pay and Display and costs £4.50 for 24 hours.
This walk is around the fells to the south of Dent, taking in South Lords Land, across to Deepdale, along the River Dee back to the start. Approximately 8 miles. Post-walk refreshments will probably be at the Sun Inn (TBC).
Sunday 11th March – Grasmere
Meet at 11.00am at Rothay Bridge by the cattle grid. Under Loughrigg (NY 37146 04465)
Car parking is also available at the Ambleside Rugby Club where there is an Honesty box.
The walk is from Ambleside to Grasmere, via the Coffin Route and Rydal Caves. It is easy walking with good paths and about 8 miles in length. Post-walk refreshments will be at 3.00 pm at Zeffirellis where everyone is welcome, whether walking or not, for drinks and a meal or just a drink.
