Winter walk- Industrial Heritage in the Leven Valley

Meet at 10.30 am in the dead end road adjacent to Haverthwaite Church (grid ref 347841).
The route goes via Rusland Pool, Lowwood and Backbarrow taking in some of the industrial heritage, including an iron forge, gunpowder works, cotton mills, blue works and iron works. It includes a small climb to Brow Edge, then through a wonderful wood to Haverthwaite Heights. It is 6 miles but could be extended to Greenodd Bridge or Lane ends at the end of Haverthwaite Heights. Post-walk refreshments at the Anglers Arms.
