At its Annual General Meeting on October 24, the South Windermere Sailing Club thanked James Woolgrove for his two years of service as Commodore, and welcomed Angela O'Donnell as Commodore for the upcoming 60th Anniversary year in 2021. The bulk of SWSC's Old Gaffers set sail on August 15 for their first-ever Regatta. Six traditional sailing boats in the club's new fleet were able to join the day, and the light to non-existent wind allowed them also to use the oars typical to the boats as they ventured up the lake. This week is set to be another fun week especially to build racing and sailing skills. Monday and Tuesday is fun and friendly race training for all abilities. Wednesday is a day to recover. Then the Anniversary Regatta will be held on Thursday and Friday.
