    Boat Park Allocations 2022

    Please see in the sailing section the boat park allocation list and plan for the main boat park area only. The allocation of Racking Spaces will be done after tomorrow when we are certain of the position and number of slots available. We are also hoping to find additional spaces on the boat park or in the area around the ramp for the club boats and any new member boats

  • Season start - Saturday, March 26

    This coming Saturday, our boat park will be ready to receive boats for the season, and we will celebrate "settling our boats in the dinghy park" with tea and cake. Cakes provided but please bring your own cup! We also will be doing important clearing of the clubhouse 10am-2pm (rubble and then old kitchen units and carpets into a skip) and continued chipping of tree brash for those who can help (spades and wheelbarrows

    Winter walks inform and inspire

    South Windermere Sailing Club moves to a new location

    It's very rare for a sailing club to move location, but pretty much unknown for one to move a mile and a half to a new location - and even stay on the same lake.     Congratulations to our 2021 Award Winners

    Members aged 7 to 80 won a total of 56 awards at our Annual Dinner and Prizegiving held at Newby Bridge Hotel, October 23. A total of 21 members won awards, from the Waterhead Cup for SWSC's signature race the length of Windermere won by Mark Fearnley to the Whippersnappers Trophy for the most promising, enthusiastic junior won by George Taylor.     SWSC Committee elected at AGM

    SWSC members held their Annual General Meeting on Saturday, October 2, with over 40 attending in person and 10 people via Zoom. Commodore Angela O'Donnell recognised the hard work of the committee in managing a challenging but successful year and looked forward to a great future for the club in 2022 .     Commodore's Day features marauding and cake!

    The Annual Commodore's Day is Saturday, July 31. Always a highlight for its fun activities on and off the water, this year will feature fancy dress on the pirating theme and lots of cake!     History of the Waterhead Race

    South Windermere Sailing Club's Waterhead race has been run annually since 1965. It was only cancelled once - in 2020 due to COVID restrictions.
