Winter Walk

A family walk in the Coniston area

Date and Start Time: Sunday 25th February, 10.30am

Description of walk: About 8km (5 miles). Family friendly, low-level walk
A varied, low level walk of mixed terrain, starting off through old woodland, down to the edge of Coniston Water, then following the Cumbria Way along the shore on the edge of Torver Back Common. This section of the walk is a bit challenging underfoot with roots and rocks and some narrow and sloping paths to negotiate. We then head over the river and up a gradual hill to Plain Riggs Reservoir then make our way through farmland and some pretty paths back to Torver.
