Winter Walk

Kirkby in Furness. 6.8 miles.

Meet 10.30 at the car park on the east side of the A595 at Soutergate. Grid Ref 227815

We will take in Beckside and walk below Kirkby Slate Quarry before descending the incline past Kirkby Hall to Wall End and then Sandside. After lunch, we will continue along the marsh / shoreline to Dunnerholme before heading back to Soutergate. There is an option to miss out Dunnerholme if weather is in our face! Some history notes for my commentary should be available nearer the date. The marsh can be a bit muddy in places.
