Main Sailing Events and Race times
The 2020 sailing programme is being rescheduled. See the calendar for the most up to date information.
In regular season programming, the following apply:
Event and Race Times
Messing About in Boats: On the water at 10:30 am
Afternoon races: Start: 2 pm
Sundays and Mondays Starts: Race 1 - 11.00 am.
On two race days, race 2 starts asap after Race 1
On three race days: Race 2 starts at 1:30pm and Race 3 will start asap after Race 2
Frostbite Series. Start 12:00
Points Trophies - The Dinghy and Flying Fifteen Points Trophies will run again this year. Keep up with your current position on the website.
Pursuit Races, Two races each day. Slower boats start first according to handicap. First starts from about 11.00am and 2.00pm. The results are the positions at 12.30pm and 3.30pm.
Family events: (all welcome, children not essential)
Picnic Cruise: Monday 25 May, 11 am start
Family sailing week: Monday 3rd to Friday 7th August, all the family get a chance to improve their sailing skills. From 10.00 am each day.
Regatta Week: Monday 10th to Friday 14th August, fun events each day from 11.00 am with Junior and Senior races in the afternoon.
Sunday Racing: usual full programme has been organised starting 22 March.
Saturday Racing: from 29 March through to 3 October. The single race format is attractive to our regular racers and also to juniors, families and less experienced sailors. Try racing and learn from more experienced sailors. Saturday sailing includes the season-long Eiger Trophy. There are opportunities on Saturdays for those new to racing to have a shorter, simple course to just practice starts and racing.
