Norman Dyer was a founder member and 3rd Commodore of SWSC in 1968.

Norman died in January 2024 at the age of 96 after suffering a stroke when he was 93. His eldest daughter Shelley Huggett nee Dyer contacted us first in SWSC's 60th year 2021 when SWSC set up the History Project and asked online for ex-members to share memories of their time in the club. Shelley is still in touch with the club in 2024 and we are indebted to her for much of this information. She has written her memories of the club's early days and provided copies of the family photos of Fell Foot and a Sailing History of Norman written by her mother. The other information is from the club records.
