Commodores Day Picnic Cruise, Pursuit Race and Barbeque

Commodore's Day and BBQ Saturday 11th July 2026

This is a fun day for all members, family and friends no matter what sort of a boat you sail! It involves a picnic cruise to Tower Wood followed by a pursuit race using an unusual handicap system.

It will be an advantage :-

* to have a young person in your boat especially if they are helming.

* to have a double crewed boat (but not essential)

Timings

10.00 - rig boats and load picnic bags onto Har Luc

11.00 - set sail from the club

12.00 onwards - land at Tower Wood for lunch, small boats on the shingle beach, larger craft on the jetty

13.30 staggered start and race back to the club

16.00 BBQ and Prize giving

We have 4 double handed club boats so find a sailing companion and (on this occasion only) book a boat in advance with me on the Messing About WhatsApp.

Looking forward to seeing an impressive flotilla sailing north!
