Does your sail have a number?

Published 08:19 on 7 May 2026

Once again we have a great forecast for sailing this weekend...

Messing about is fully crewed, but we need some help on Saturday afternoon to run races, and also on Sunday when we currently need three more volunteers.

Getting the results from racing on to the web site does sometimes present some challenges, whch is why we have a set of forms to be completed for each race. The sign on sheet allows entrants to record their names for the race officer - who probably wont know who everyone is. The race officer can use the sign on sheet to update the results sheet, which records where everyone came in a race. Can everyone please ensure they sign on for racing, the sign on sheet will be on the desk in the clubhouse entrance.

OODs will capture details of boats on the water, but this relies on every boat being uniquly identifiable. If your boat's sails do not have a number on them, it is very hard for the OOD to know who you are, unless you get close enough to the committee boat for a conversation. Please make their life easier by adding a unique number to each side of your sail. Self adhesive numbers are easily available on line.

I have been unable to process some results this season as I have just had the boat type recorded, with no name or number to work on.

Many thanks,

Mike
