Discover Sailing at SWSC

SWSC will be holding an open day with taster sails on Saturday, 18 May, 10am to 3pm. This is part of the RYA's Discover Sailing initiative so Save the Date!

Club members will be on site to share more information about all things sailing and our club community.

No advance booking is required. Buoyancy aids are provided for sailing and being on the jetty. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and footwear that you don't mind getting wet. If the weather isn't very warm a windproof coat would be beneficial.

Members will also be on hand to explain rigging and the elements of sailing, and you can try helming on land. Learn how to tie different types of knots, and identify the parts of a boat.

Good quality used sailing gear for children and adults will also be available for sale.

Parking available, payable to YMCA Lakeside. You can also walk/cycle via the "West Windermere Way".

Tasty cakes, light lunches, drinks available on site.
