Third 2026 Winter Walk

A happy baker's dozen took advantage of predominantly dry conditions with glimpses of blue sky for the third of this year's programme of winter walks, tackling parts of the West Windermere Way and climbing to High Dam over the course of seven miles.

Our fourth and final walk on 8th March starts at 10.30 at Ings on the A591 Grid reference 445988. There is parking just beyond the Watermill Inn (LA8 9PY)

Distance 8-9 miles mainly on grassy paths with short sections of quiet minor roads. The walk encompasses 3 minor 'peaks', Grandsire, Brant Fell and School Knott, which give great views over Windermere and the Lakes.

Height gained is 1000' (300 metres) approximately.

Refreshments afterwards at the Watermill Inn.

The following Saturday, we will have our first working party of the year, setting up the club for another season of sailing, cruising, racing and fun. Please do come if you are able. Jobs can be found for all abilities.
