SWSC have received several grants that have made the barrier gate and slipway matting possible.

The slipway matting has been supported financially by The Holehird Trust and the Roselands Trust Fund. The matting has made a huge difference in launching dinghies over the pebble beach and along the jetty. Everyone, from juniors to the flying fifteen sailors, have appreciated the smoother, harder surface that has made it easier to launch and recover boats. Thanks also goes to all the volunteers who helped to lay and secure the matting.

The automatic barrier gate was supported with a grant from The Thomas Graham & Sons Ltd Grassroots Fund especially for the intergenerational learning being led by Mike and Mervyn, and especially involving David Woolgrove and Daniel Keen.

All the grants were facilitated by the Cumbria Community Foundation. SWSC is incredibly grateful to these foundations for their support our our club and sailing activities.
